The beginning...

Because we're a family owned business, we like our customers (whom we refer to as our "extended" family) to know a little bit about how Kiss Me In The Garden was born. Every birth has it's own story and now we share ours with you!

Fragrance transports us. It can rejuvenate, relax and remind us....

A simple scent can instantly alter our mood, elevate our spirit and enhance our lives. Many years ago in the small French town of Les Baux De Provence, Jonathan and I became captivated by the scent of lavender. We searched the mountain for the source of the scent and found a tiny shop selling dried lavender flowers and oils. We bought the fragrant oils and brought them home with us. We found ourselves using the oils to scent our home, our bath and our linens.

We wanted to learn more about scents and why they have such a strong effect on our emotions. This study began a journey and a love of fragrance which ultimately gave birth to the Kiss Me In The Garden bath and body collection. We wanted our Personal Care products - to be just that, aromas that would appeal to you on a personal level and products that truly cared for your skin. This is why we created a line made with intoxicating fragrance blends which contain natural botanical ingredients and are hypo- allergenic and cruelty free.

We have spent 17 years developing our unique line. We want you to know that we make everything that we sell in our factory in Northridge, California. This gives us extraordinary quality control as well as the ability to make super high quality products and still sell them at a competitive price. We are always on the cutting edge, continually researching new formulas, new botanical ingredients and new ways to make the product better, more environmentally friendly and more natural.

Starting November 1, 2005, we will be completely "paraben-free". Read about parabens below.

There are chemical ingredients called “parabens” (AKA Methylparaben and Propylparaben) that are commonly used as preservatives. They are in just about everything that uses preservatives (look at your shampoos, conditioners, facial make up, food….etc.) Only a tiny amount of these preservatives are used (1/10th of 1 %) in most cases. However, the American Cancer Society recently said that they think there may be a link between these preservatives and cancer. I have had people from the companies that make this ingredient in my office and they assured me that there has never been a link between these two things. However, because there is some concern, we revised our products and have taken the parabens out. As of November 1, 2005 all of our products are paraben free.

We encourage you to visit Product Info , on our website www.kissmeinthegarden.com to learn more about some of the botanicals we included in our products and why they were chosen.

We welcome you to our extended family. We wish you good health, prosperous endeavors and many kisses in the garden!
